What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.

How Coda uses storage

Coda does not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use localStorage (a browser-based storage mechanism) for the following purposes:

Key Purpose Expires
coda_auth Stores your authentication token, name, and handle so you remain logged in across page reloads. Until you log out
coda_lang Remembers your preferred language (English, Spanish, or Catalan) so you don't have to re-select it each visit. Persistent
sidebar_collapsed Remembers whether you had the navigation sidebar expanded or collapsed. Persistent

These items are stored locally in your browser. They are never transmitted to third parties and are not used for tracking or advertising.

Session cookie

When you log in, the server issues a JWT (JSON Web Token) which is stored in coda_auth. This token is sent as a header with API requests to authenticate you. It expires 30 days after issuance.

No third-party cookies

Coda does not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social media tracking pixels. No external scripts that set cookies are loaded on the platform.

How to manage or clear cookies

You can clear all Coda localStorage data at any time by opening your browser's developer tools → Application → Local Storage → coda.music and deleting the entries. This will log you out and reset your language preference.

Most browsers also have a "Clear site data" option in their privacy settings. Consult your browser's help documentation for instructions specific to your browser.
