1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Coda you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. The service
Coda provides tools for async music collaboration: project creation, in-browser recording, score display, recording review, performance generation, a social feed, direct messaging, and a public listening gallery. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password.
- One person or entity per account. Sharing credentials is prohibited.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Guest accounts are temporary. We may delete inactive guest accounts after 90 days.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of recordings, scores, posts, and other content you upload ("Your Content"). By uploading, you grant Coda a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display Your Content as necessary to operate the service — including generating the ensemble video and displaying it publicly if you submit it to a published project.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. Do not upload content you do not own or have permission to use.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
- Attempt to circumvent authentication or access other users' data.
- Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to the API without written permission.
- Upload malware or content designed to disrupt the service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Performances and public content
Published performances are public by default and may be viewed, liked, and shared by anyone without an account. If you wish to remove a published performance, contact us or use the project management tools to retract it.
7. Third-party content
Coda may display scores, composer names, or other information provided by users. We do not verify the accuracy of this information and are not responsible for its correctness.
8. Intellectual property
The Coda platform, logo, and design are owned by Coda Music Inc. Nothing in these Terms grants you a licence to use Coda's intellectual property.
9. Disclaimers
Coda is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recordings will be perfectly synchronised in all cases.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coda is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. On termination, your access to the service ends and your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Barcelona.
